Dina was born in Forest Hills Queens and raised there. However, she moved to Dix Hills Long Island before the close of her junior year. Two of her brothers are Gregory the elder brother of her as well as Evan. Her first experience in the entertainment industry came as she was modeling between the ages of nine and sixteen. Ron Stetson trained her in the methods of acting taught by Sanford Meisner at The Neighborhood Playhouse. This took about three years. Other actors to receive such education include Sandra Bullock, Michael Douglas, Jeff Goldblum, Leslie Nielsen, Diane Keaton, as well as other actors. Her first performance came in Beverly Hills 90210. This led to her relocating into Los Angeles. The first film she appeared in was Johnny Mnemonic. She did all the stunts of the film and helped establish her as an athletic as well as an actress. She was also represented by Matt LeBlanc, so through her talent agent she managed to land a regular role in the show Friends.
